Roero Arneis

Arneis is the proud son of the Roero hills, on the basis of place names that date back to the ‘400 claims forms “renexij” and “Ornesio. Popular culture, through various stages of language, said the musical name Arneis, a term that indicates a person extrovert and a bit ‘rebellious, original and funny. The records of noble families cellar Roero documenting old and continuing attention to this wine. Already in the early twentieth century, Arneis (sometimes likened to “Nebbiolo White”) is identified with the Roero hills. The d.o.c. “Roero Arneis” is 1989. The 2005 vintage was the first to carry the DOCG. Roero Arneis is an aristocratic wine and complexity of the old notes to justify the definition of “white Nebbiolo. Its color is straw yellow with greenish or golden. The scent is light and delicate, with a prevalence of peach and melon flavors of flowers, dandelion and elderberry, with the final yellow golden apple. The flavor is full, warm and vigorous, with good sweet-acid balance and intense sensations of crusty bread and honey, long finish with vibrant flowers of acacia, pineapple and citrus. Is the characteristic bitter aftertaste.

In the hilly vineyards in the sunny land in a vast area of the province of Cuneo, including the administrative territory of 94 municipalities well, they produce different types of wine together under the single designation of origin “Langhe”. That name without other additional specification is reserved for wines: Red and White. The name “Langhe” followed by the specification Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Freisa, Arneis, Favorita and Chardonnay is reserved for wines made from grapes from vineyards made exclusively from the corresponding varieties. Langhe Nebbiolo can be served at 18-20 °, paired with white meats and medium aged cheeses and hard cheese, soups and light meats, while for the Langhe Arneis is the recommended serving temperature at 18-20 °, in combination with soft cheese, language, rice salad, the favorite, served at 16 °, combine seafood appetizers, soft cheeses, light soups, fish, zucchini, for the Chardonnay, served at 18-20 °, pull over light hors d’oeuvres, soft cheese, minestrone.
